Customizing the User Interface

The AutoCAD User Interface is defined in a Custom User Interface (CUI) file. This file controls the toolbars, ribbons, menus and double-click actions among other user interface elements.

A Workspace is a snapshot of the toolbars, menus, ribbons and palettes that are displayed in AutoCAD. Workspaces were implemented in AutoCAD 2006 when the menu format was changed from MNS to CUI. Workspaces are saved in the ACAD.CUI (or ACAD.CUIX) by default.
